Get Involved – Community Design Workshop
We’ve just launched a new phase of public engagement for the South Maui Community Plan update: community design. We want to hear from you! The Department is gathering input on areas that the community thinks should change and areas that should stay the same in South Maui. The information collected will guide the land use plan, policies and actions in the draft South Maui Community Plan.
There are three ways to get involved:
Online, self-directed community design workshop
September 13 – October 17, 2021
Using simple mapping technology, drop pins on a map of South Maui and tell us what you want to stay the same or change about those specific areas. This activity is compatible with phones, tablets and computers, and can be done alone or with friends.
South Maui Talk Story Tuesdays
Starting September 21 through October 26, every Tuesday we are hosting a Zoom-based virtual talk story with folks from South Maui. Drop by any time between 3:30 and 5:30pm to share your manaʻo about your community. You can join any of these Talk Story meetings at this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82823973989pm
Invite us to talk with your community group!
If you have a group or club that would like to share their mana’o about the future of South Maui with long-range planners, reach out and we’ll schedule a virtual meeting. We can answer questions you have and will be glad to hear what you have to say. To schedule a meeting, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
